Now Reading...

I recently discovered Andrew Smith - the author of Winger. Winger is an absolutely brilliant book about a young rugby player in his junior year of high school. He has some experiences that are perfectly realistic, but lead to an unexpectedly tragic twist. The narrator, Ryan Dean, is so wrapped up in his own disasters that he doesn't see the problems that are circling around him.

I also enjoyed Stand-Off, which is a sequel and about his Ryan Dean deals with the aftermath of his junior year.

I picked up The Little Book of Hygge from my library today. There are some good ideas, but I don't think it is quite what I am looking for on a beautiful spring day.

I'm working my way through The Immortals by Jordanna Max Brodsky. But I was hoping for something a little more exciting. It's worth finishing, but there is something about the writing style or the plot that isn't quite working for me. For novels inspired by mythology, I might prefer Gods Behaving Badly or even The Lightning Thief series.
